We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinite and perfect, Father, Son and Holy Spirit from eternity. We believe that Jesus Christ, without any alteration to His eternal divinity, became fully human through conception by the Holy Spirit and through birth by a virgin. We believe that He died on the cross, thereby offering a perfect and complete sacrifice, in our stead and for our sins, according to the Scriptures. We believe that he arose bodily from the dead, that He ascended into heaven, where He sits on the right hand of God Almighty, and that He is now our High Priest and Advocate. We believe he will come again in person, visible and glorious. We believe in the Holy Spirit, in His divinity and His personality. We believe His ministry is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and, at the present time, to convict and regenerate sinners by faith in Christ, to baptise each believer at the time of his or her regeneration, thus making him or her a member of a body of which Christ is the Head, to inhabit the heart of each believer, guiding, teaching and filling each believer, giving him or her the power which will enable him to live and serve God in a way that is worthy of the Lord.
We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, that they are the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of man, and that thy have divine authority in things pertaining to the Christian faith, life and walk.
We believe that each person was created in the image of God to live in harmony with Him, but that this relationship was broken by the disbelief and the disobedience of man. As a result, all mankind is lost and remains under the dominion of Satan, in revolt, corruption and condemnation. No one is capable of reestablishing a true relationship with God through his or her own efforts.
We believe that the death of Jesus Christ on the cross and His resurrection are the only basis for the justification and salvation by grace of all those who believe. We believe that only those who receive Jesus Christ by an act of personal faith are born of the Spirit, thereby becoming children of God. We believe that salvation is reflected in a pious life, sanctification, testimony and service to the glory of God, through the Holy Spirit..
We believe that all the redeemed must live in such a way as to honour and glorify their Lord and Saviour, avoiding anything that may be offensive to Him. We believe that the will of God is that we reject all false doctrines, as well as guilty pleasures, practices and associations.
We believe that the Church comprises all those who, by saving faith, have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit, and who are also united together as Christ’s body of which He is Himself the Head. We believe that the Universal Church is the community of the redeemed, from all countries and in all time. The true unity of this body is in its Head, Jesus Christ, through the work of the Holy Spirit. We believe that its visible expression is in the local churches. The aim of the Church is to glorify God by loving Him and making Him known to the whole world.
We believe that baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances that the Church must keep. However, these must not be considered as means of obtaining salvation. Baptism has to do with a person entering into the community of the new covenant, the Lord’s Supper speaks of the permanent renewal of this convenant. Together, they form the sign which God has left us, the means of grace established by God, and they express our public commitment the Crucified and Risen Christ, as we await His second coming and the restoration of all things.
We believe in the personal second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that this blessed hope is of vital importance in the life and the service of the believer, for we believe in the bodily resurrection of all men and women : those having refused the salvation offered by Jesus Christ, according to the teaching of Jesus, will resurrect to judgement and eternal punishment. Those saved by the blood of Jesus will resurrect to eternal happiness in the presence of God, in the new heaven and the new earth where justice will reign. On that day, the Church will be perfect without spot or blemish before God. All sin will have disappeared and its cursed effects will be forever removed.
